Overview / Description
Cloudback is an AI developer tool and backup platform that automates daily backups and restores for GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, and Linear repositories. It captures full Git history, Git LFS, pull requests, issues, and platform metadata, then stores AES-256-encrypted archives either in Cloudback-managed regions or in your own storage across ten configurations including Amazon S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud, Wasabi, and Alibaba OSS. The Cloudback MCP Server exposes these operations to AI assistants, alongside a Terraform provider and an Operations API for teams that prefer infrastructure-as-code. Self-service restore supports cross-platform migration, for example moving repositories between GitHub and GitLab. For compliance-minded teams, Cloudback offers SOC 2 Type II attestation, an audit log spanning 60-plus event types, Vanta integration, and customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK). Backup status and failures can be routed to Slack, Teams, Discord, and email. It is aimed at engineering, DevOps, and security teams that need ransomware recovery, accidental-deletion rollback, and migration without scripting their own backup jobs.
