Overview / Description
Constellate is an AI startup-research tool that finds technology gaps — places where a product logically should exist but doesn't — so builders know what to build next. Instead of scoring incremental improvements, it analyzes emerging ideas across multiple public sources and surfaces structural absences in the market. In its latest run it drew on 1,643+ ideas from five active feeds (Hacker News, arXiv, GitHub Trending, Hugging Face, and Dev.to) and used Claude to cluster and reason over small groups of 3-6 related ideas, detecting patterns it labels absences, chains, triangulations, convergences, and spectrums. The output is a ranked shortlist: the top 12 gaps out of 40 detected, each with a problem description, why existing solutions fall short, counts of related ideas and existing products, and the thematic undercurrents behind it. A browsable constellation map organizes everything by pattern type so you can explore clusters rather than scroll a flat list. For founders, product managers, developers, and investors searching for the best AI tool to discover high-potential market gaps in areas like AI agents, self-hosted infrastructure, and developer tools, Constellate reframes idea discovery around what's structurally missing rather than what's merely trending.
