FixMyExcelFile.com is a free online Excel file repair tool that analyzes and fixes corrupted .xlsx and .xlsm workbooks directly in the browser, with no installation or account required. It is built for anyone who has encountered a damaged or unreadable Excel spreadsheet and needs a fast, zero-cost way to recover it.
The Basic Scanner is completely free and runs entirely server-side. Users drag and drop a file — up to 10 MB — into the upload zone, and the AI analysis engine inspects the file's internal XML structure, formatting, formulas, and metadata for corruption. Results and a repaired file are returned within minutes. The free tier allows up to five files per day per device.
An Advanced Scanner is currently in development (waitlist available) and will add support for pivot table recovery, macro analysis, VBA code repair, data validation checks, and chart recovery — features aimed at power users and businesses working with complex workbooks.
There are no hidden fees, subscriptions, or sign-up walls on the current free tier. Files are processed securely on the tool's servers and are only stored if the user explicitly requests it. The interface is minimal and task-focused: upload, analyze, download the repaired file.
