GameOrWait

GameOrWait is an open-source AI game recommendation tool that predicts how much you will enjoy any game — and at what price — based on your personal taste profile and scored library. Designed for gamers who want to stop regretting purchases, it works by learning your preferences across three dimensions: a taste questionnaire covering play style, difficulty preference, and key priorities (story, combat, exploration); a scored game library that you build by rating titles you have already played using a time-based scoring system where finished games earn double credit; and live AI-driven analysis that searches the web for reviews and compares them against your profile to generate a personalised enjoyment prediction, a confidence score, a risk assessment, and a target buy price.

GameOrWait supports library imports from Steam, Epic Games, CSV, JSON, and plain text, and is available both as a browser-based web app and a native Windows desktop application. Signing up takes seconds via email, GitHub, or a Steam account. The first five analyses are free with no API key or credit card required. After that, users bring their own API key from Claude, ChatGPT, or any compatible provider for unlimited use — setup takes roughly two minutes.

The project is fully open source on GitHub, inviting bug reports, feature suggestions, and code contributions. The more games a user scores, the more accurate its predictions become — the homepage notes that even 10–15 scored games produce a noticeable improvement in recommendation quality.
