Ilo

Overview / Description

Ilo is a local-first AI agent tool — a Windows desktop workbench for continual agent workflows rather than one-off chat. You connect a workspace, set a goal, and Ilo researches, plans, inspects files, creates content, revises its own work, and continues across follow-up turns while keeping every action visible. Its grounded features include a Command Center showing live conversations, plans, tool calls, results and errors on a "Blackboard," persistent projects and threaded chats, real-time context-window tracking, and manual or automatic thread compaction that checkpoints long runs while preserving the full transcript. It can search the live web, compare public sources, run quick or deep multi-source research, inspect and edit workspace files, and work with PDFs, DOCX, images and source files using local full-text plus optional semantic retrieval. Memory is reviewable: you approve, pin, archive or delete proposed memories and skills, and automatic reflection is off by default. It runs as a Windows app storing data under your local profile, with localhost authentication, private-network blocking for agent web requests, explicit workspace-write controls and no command-execution for the default agent. External LLM API access requires your own API key. It suits developers, researchers, writers and privacy-conscious professionals who want persistent agent workflows under their control.
