NativeCall is an AI translation and calling app that lets English, Mandarin, and Cantonese speakers make phone calls in Japan without speaking Japanese. Built as an iPhone app, it targets travelers, expats, and residents who need to reach Japanese businesses, hotels, restaurants, clinics, and government offices — situations where much of Japan still runs on the phone and requires Japanese fluency. Its core feature is live call translation with roughly one-second latency in each direction, translating your English, Traditional or Simplified Mandarin, or Cantonese into spoken Japanese and back. After each call it saves a bilingual transcript so you have a record of what was said. NativeCall also includes a built-in Japanese phone number and international calling, so you do not need a Japanese SIM or a special calling plan. For harder situations, it offers a human caller service where a real person makes the call on your behalf — booking restaurants, reserving hotels, chasing lost property, or handling government matters — priced separately from the live-translation calls. This makes it a practical AI translation tool for language-barrier phone tasks specific to Japan rather than a general-purpose interpreter.
