SmartDaas

SmartDaaS is an AI health-analytics tool that predicts HIV treatment-interruption risk from routine DHIS2 and EMR exports, without requiring new data collection or workflow changes. It is built for PEPFAR implementing partners across sub-Saharan Africa, letting clinical and program teams score which patients are most likely to interrupt treatment using data they already report. The model was trained on 27,288 real-world HIV patient records and reports a temporal AUC of 0.772 on held-out future patients, meaning it was tested on later cases rather than a random split. Every risk score comes with SHAP explainability, so users can see which factors drove a given prediction rather than getting an opaque number. On privacy, the tool stores no data and processes everything session-only, and the project reports validation across 192,732 records in six countries. SmartDaaS is open source and MIT licensed, which lets partner organizations inspect, adapt, and self-host it. It runs as a lightweight web app, so it is best suited to analysts and program staff who already work with DHIS2 or EMR exports rather than to individual clinicians at the point of care.
