Kargoo is an AI meeting recorder and transcription tool that captures, transcribes, and summarizes meetings entirely on-device for Mac users who handle sensitive conversations. Built around Apple Silicon and running the Whisper speech model locally, Kargoo records audio from any meeting platform — Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, Slack, FaceTime, or in-person gatherings — without sending a single byte to the cloud. No bots join your calls, no plug-ins are required, and no audio ever reaches an external server.

When a meeting ends, Kargoo produces a clean transcript and a structured summary in under 30 seconds, breaking output into decisions, action items, and speaker attributions so you can paste directly into Slack, Notion, or email. A searchable recording library lets you locate any spoken moment in roughly 12 seconds, eliminating the need to rewatch hour-long recordings.

The tool doubles as a system-wide dictation engine. Powered by on-device Whisper inference, it types into any Mac text field at over 150 words per minute — five times faster than average typing — with the first word appearing in under 350 ms. A keyboard shortcut (⌘⇧K) lets users pin timestamped notes ("jots") to any point in a live recording, linking directly to that moment in the transcript.

All recordings, transcripts, summaries, and voice profiles are stored as plain files in a user-chosen folder on the local filesystem. Kargoo cannot read your meetings because it never receives them. The app requires Apple Silicon and macOS 13 Ventura or later, and is available as a 12 MB download.
