OffgridScribe is an on-device transcription app that turns speech into text and generates summaries entirely on an iPhone, built for journalists, lawyers, and anyone handling sensitive conversations. It runs 100% offline: audio never leaves the device, there are no cloud uploads or third-party servers, and records are held in encrypted on-device storage. You can record directly in the app or import existing audio and video files, then get a full transcript even for long recordings. Live speaker tagging attributes lines to individual speakers as you record, and summaries are generated on demand using structured templates. Playback is linked to the text, so tapping a sentence jumps straight to that moment in the recording. Transcripts can be edited and exported to PDF, Word, or plain text, and a built-in search lets you find content across past recordings. A custom glossary helps keep domain-specific terms accurate. Because transcription and summarization happen locally, OffgridScribe works without an internet connection and keeps confidential material off external infrastructure.
